our literary agency

It is becoming more and more difficult to find a publisher with the time to read every manuscript. Many publishers are now relying on agents to screen new writers and send on only those works that are of publishable quality and fit the publishing profile of a company.

Finding an agent is as difficult as finding a publisher. We are keen to promote good writers, but we are only interested in those who are serious about their craft.

We only consider manuscripts that come with a full professional assessment.

We accept assessments from all professional agencies except Sid Harta, who do not accept any assessments but their own.

What to send us

•A brief introductory letter and précis

•An unbound copy of the first three chapters (or about 20,000 words)

•A full copy of the manuscript assessment

•A self-addressed red postal bag to return the manuscript in (don't waste money on Express post: it is no faster)

Please note: We are happy to make initial contact by e-mail but at the moment we do not consider e-mail submissions for agenting.

Costs

You pay us nothing until we place your book with a publisher. Costs are decided upon when we agree to act for you, and are a percentage of your royalties
